Vanadurgi plantations are located in different regions of the lush green ranges
of Western Ghats. While coffee, vanilla, arecanut, pepper, rubber, agarwood,
sandalwood, and garcinia are some of the main crops grown in the estates,
patchouli, stevia, turmeric, ginger, cardamom, banana, papaya, pineapple, and
vegetables are a few of the short-term crops grown in the farm. Our plantations
have been certified as organic in 2004 by SKAL, and later by Eco-cert. Ago-
research is carried out on new crops in our plantations, which are then
commercially introduced to other farmers. Further, we have contract farming,
where farming is done on the basis of an agreement between the Vanadurgi
Farms and the farmers. Vanadurgi Foundation, as part of its farmer
empowerment programme, implemented contract farming with the self-help
groups of farmers, especially those growing vegetables and short-term crops.
All the required support, pre-finance, and inputs to enrich soil health are
provided to farmers to ensure the consistent supply of farm produce.
