Description
As the name implies, in the past, Rajamudi paddy was meant for use by the royal families and kings of Mysore. Its native variety is cultivated in the villages of Hassan, Sakaleshpur, and Somavarpet taluks.
At Vanpro, Rajamudi paddy is organically cultivated and certified as per the National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP), India, and the Council Regulation (EC), Europe, standards. No pesticides, insecticides, weedicides, food additives, antibiotics, genetically modified seeds, and sewage sludge are used in the production process.
Vanadurgi Farms, together with Vanadurgi Foundation, is engaged in the organic movement by providing end-to-end support to farmers right from advance finance, inputs, certification, technical guidelines etc. Further, Rajamudi paddy is purchased at 30% premium price, thus making organic cultivation viable for farmers. Good quality paddy is sourced, destoned, cleaned, and processed into rice and hygienically packed and delivered to
consumers’ doorsteps for a reasonable price.
